Head of Communications, Pinngortitaleriffik

Currently seeking experienced Head of Communications to join Pinngortitaleriffik as soon as possible or as agreed.


Main role and responsibilities

The Head of Communications will have the overall responsibility for developing and implementing Pinngortitaleriffik’s communication strategy, including particularly the strengthening of the dialogue with fishers, catchers and other users of the Greenlandic nature.

The post will include daily management of Pinngortitaleriffik’s Communication Office and affiliated members of staff, external consultants, interpreters, and others. The Head of Communications will be part of Pinngortitaleriffik’s management group and responsible to the Director.

The Head of Communications will play an active and outward-oriented role as a well-known part of Pinngortitaleriffik´s profile to the public. The Head of Communications will carry out a vital task as the link between the scientists at the Institute and the Greenlandic community.

The Head of Communications will be responsible for administering the various activities and tasks of the Communication Office.

Your tasks

  • Planning and implementing communication activities such as fora, dialogue meetings, seminars and debates
  • Executing information campaigns
  • Managing, preparing and quality assuring press releases and all external information materials, including advisory texts, hearing statements and other written materials relating to the public authorities
  • Managing the company website and annual report
  • Engaging press, media and community – both nationally and internationally
  • Supporting Pinngortitaleriffik’s management and staff in a range of different communication issues.

Your qualifications and experience

  • Excellent bilingual communication skills in Greenlandic and Danish, both written and verbal
  • Good English skills necessary
  • Educated to MA/MSc level in Journalism, Communication or other relevant education
  • Ability to work in a structured manner
  • Proven extensive experience of communication
  • Proven experience of leadership
  • Great collaboration skills, outgoing personality, organisational skills and a can-do attitude are highly valued personal traits.

Conditions of employment

Pay and conditions of employment according to collective agreement or individual employment contract depending on qualifications and experience.

Housing is not offered for this position.
