The Greenland Climate Research Centre is now soliciting applications for funding of research projects relating to Greenland and concerned with expected impacts of climate change on Arctic marine, limnic, and terrestrial environments, and on Greenlandic society – including adaptation and prevention strategies.

The Climate Research Centre wishes to focus especially on relations between climate, ice (sea ice, glaciers, permafrost), sea and society.

An amount of DKK 10.1 M is available for the period 1 November 2012 – 30 April 2014, provided the Danish State budget for 2012 is approved.

Applications cannot exceed DKK 1.0 M.

Application due date: Saturday 15 October 2011 15:00 hrs. (West Greenland time).

The Climate Research Centre in Greenland is attached to the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources and has a core staff consisting of a Head of Centre and an administrative department. In addition, a social science unit will be established at Ilisimatusarfik/University of Greenland. Projects funded by this pool are expected to contribute towards establishing a research environment in Nuuk.
