Scientific Advice on Land Mammals

Advising on exploitation of Greenland's caribou and musk ox populations is supplied directly by Pinngortitaleriffik / the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources to the Home Rule. As these populations are not shared with other countries, no international agreements exist on advising and exploitation. Advising on hunting periods and pressure on the various populations is supplied on request to the Department of Fisheries, Hunting and Agriculture. Advising is based on the best available knowledge on the various populations.
